Glimpses of The Annual Tarbiyah Event and Prize Distribution

At the outset of the Academic Year 2023-24, we launched our Tarbiyah Program. This comprehensive initiative concluded with the Annual Tarbiyah Prize Distribution Ceremony held on June 9, 2024.

At The Mentor, we recognize the critical importance of modern education. Fields like science, commerce, and information technology are advancing at an unprecedented pace, making it essential to stay updated with these developments. However, it is equally vital, if not more so, to ensure that we do not sacrifice our core Islamic values in the attainment of advancement in the modern fields.

Islam is not merely a religion; it is a way of life. The Mentor’s Annual Tarbiyah Program aims to “Inculcate essential Islamic values in the daily lives of our younger generation, ensuring their success in both this world and the Hereafter.”

The 2023-24 Tarbiyah Program culminated in the Annual Prize Distribution, where top achievers were honored for their outstanding performance throughout the academic year. It was evident that the children whose parents actively participated in the assigned activities, diligently filled their Tarbiyah booklets, consistently maintained their Ramadan and Falasteen diaries, and encouraged the prescribed habits were the ones who achieved the highest scores in our annual assessments. Recognizing and appreciating the efforts of these parents is equally important.

These awards were a testament not only to the students’ efforts but also to the dedication of teachers and parents in ensuring that their children remained committed to fulfilling the daily and weekly tasks.

The event commenced with a beautiful recitation of the Quran by our aspiring young Hafiz, Muhammad bin Rehan, followed by its translation by Syed Aaraiz Hasan. Other student performances included:
1. Hamd by Maryam binte Zeeeshan
2. Naat Recitation by Fatima Akhter
3. Welcome Nasheed
4. Arabic Speech: “أهمية الجهاد” by Zimal Haseeb
5. English Speech: “Importance of Masjid al Aqsa in Islam” by Zoran Arsalan
6. Urdu Speech: “ہمارے فلسطینی بھائیوں کی مدد کے لیے عملی اقدامات” by Abdul Wasay

Following the student performances, our esteemed guest, Mufti Abdul Basit, addressed the gathering. Mufti Abdul Basit holds both contemporary and religious academic qualifications, including a Shadat-ul-Aalamia (Masters in Islamic Studies & Arabic) from the esteemed Jamia Darul Uloom, Karachi, under the guidance of Justice Retd. Mufti Taqi Usmani, and Takhassus Fiqh-ul-Muamlaat from Jamia Tur Rasheed, Karachi. Additionally, he holds a degree in Commerce from the University of Karachi. He spoke eloquently about the importance of the Tarbiyah of children and its profound benefits for all.

The Annual Tarbiyah Prize Distribution Ceremony was a fitting conclusion to a year of hard work and dedication, celebrating the achievements of our students, the support of their parents, and the guidance of their teachers.
