As the blessed month of Ramadan has arrived, we are excited to inform you about our unique initiative aimed at enhancing the spiritual experience of our students during the holy month: The Ramadan Diary. This unique project is designed to encourage students to maintain a daily journal throughout Ramadan, documenting their daily ibadah (acts of worship), acts of kindness, and Ramadan tasks. Moreover, it also gives our students the opportunity to learn Ahadith, supplications (duas), verses of the Qur’an and inculcate righteous behaviours in their daily lives.
What’s Included in the Ramadan Diaries?
Our Ramadan diaries are carefully curated to include a variety of prompts and activities designed to enrich students’ Ramadan experience.
Daily Reflections: Students are encouraged to write about their daily experiences about fasting, prayer, and ibadah (acts of worship).
Acts of Kindness: Each day, students are tasked with performing a random act of kindness, whether it’s helping a neighbor, feeding the hungry, or simply offering a kind word to someone in need.
Ramadan Tasks: The diaries include daily tasks related to Ramadan, such as reading a verse from the Quran, memorizing a du’a (supplication), or learning about the significance of a particular aspect of Ramadan.
Why Keep a Ramadan Diary?
Reflection and Self-Improvement: Ramadan is a time for self-reflection and spiritual growth. By keeping a diary, students can reflect on their daily experiences, struggles, and achievements, allowing them to identify areas for improvement and set personal goals for the month and helping them complete their religious duties timely.
Gratitude: It’s easy to take things for granted in our busy lives. A Ramadan diary provides a space for students to express gratitude for the blessings in their lives fostering a sense of appreciation and contentment. Furthermore, documenting daily acts of kindness and charity not only cultivates empathy and compassion but also teaches students to be thankful to Allah for all His blessings.
Connection with Faith: As students progress through Ramadan and fill their diaries with reflections, accomplishments, and complete their daily learning tasks, they will experience a sense of achievement and fulfillment which allows them to strengthen their relationship with Allah and gain a deeper understanding of the significance of Ramadan.
Accountability: The act of recording daily activities and reflections holds students accountable for their actions. It encourages them to be mindful of their behaviour and strive to align it with the values and principles that Ramadan teaches us.
In conclusion, the Ramadan diaries serve as invaluable tools for students to deepen their spiritual connection, foster a sense of gratitude and empathy, and actively engage in the rituals and acts of kindness that define the essence of Ramadan. We encourage all students to embrace this opportunity and make the most of their Ramadan experience by keeping a daily diary. May this Ramadan be a source of blessings, growth, and enlightenment for all of us.
